Reika is a research associate at the University of Illinois and her
specialty includes noble gas geochemistry of Earth's hydrosphere,
atmosphere and mantle. Primordial and radiogenic noble gases in the
mantle set constrains on geological events that brought other volatiles
including water to the Earth's surface to form the ocean and
atmosphere. One of her passions is to decipher the mantle noble gas
signatures to better understand the evolution of the Earth's mantle and
surface environments in terms of time scales and fluxes of materials,
especially over Hadean.
