January 9, 2005
- Arrive in Honolulu, Hawaii no later than January 9, 2004
- Take a taxi from the Honolulu International Airport to the Queen
Kapiolani Hotel in Waikiki. Address: 150 Kapahulu Avenue
- 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Welcome reception in the Queen Kapiolani conference
room (TBA)
From January 10 to 14, 2005 - except on January 13, 2005
- Breakfast - participants are on their own.
- 7:30 a.m. Pickup at Queen Kapiolani Hotel by Ground Transport, Inc.
- 8:30 a.m. Dropoff at the Institute for Astronomy (IfA)
- 9:00 a.m. Winter School starts.
- Lunch to be catered.
- 6:15 p.m. Pickup from the IfA by Ground Transport Inc.
- Dinner - participants are on their own.
January 13, 2005
- Breakfast - participants are on their own.
- 7:30 a.m. Pickup at Queen Kapiolani Hotel by Ground Transport, Inc.
- 8:30 a.m. Dropoff at the Institute for Astronomy

January 15, 2005 - Travel to the Big Island
- Breakfast - participants are on their own.

- 9:40 a.m. Flight leaves from Honolulu International Airport to Kona
- 10:30 a.m. Pickup by Roberts Hawaii
- 11:15 a.m. Drive to Beach in Kona for lunch
- 1:45 p.m. Drive to Volcanoes National Park
- 6:30 p.m. Dinner buffet at KMC
- 9:00 p.m. Dropoff at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel
January 16, 2005 - Mauna Kea excursion
- Breakfast - participants are on their own.
- 8:30 a.m. Hilo to Mauna Kea Visitors Center (MKVIS)
- 9:45 a.m. Orientation at VIS, bathroom, acclimatization Hawaiian
culture and MKO presentation (Koa)
- 10:45-11:15 MKVIS to Summit
- 11:15-12:00 Tour 1 - Group 1 at Tel 1, Group 2 at Tel 2, Group 3 photos
- 12:00-12:45 Tour 2 - Group 1 at Tel 2, Group 2 photos, Group 3 at Tel 1
- 12:45-13:30 Tour 3 - Group 1 photos, Group 2 at Tel 1, Group 3 at Tel 2
- 13:30-14:00 Drive to MKVIS
- 14:00-14:30 Box lunches
- 14:30-15:30 Nature walk with Kenyan
