This is polarization image of R Mon. This is the first image of R Mon at 0.2" FWHM resolution with polarimetry at 1.6 um. This may be the first published polarimetry image with AO. The dark areas have 0% polarization while the brightest areas are 50% polarized. The blue lines indicate the direction and strength of the electric vector. This "centro-symmetric" vetor pattern tells us that NGC 2261 is completely illuminated by R Mon. Hence NGC2261 is a bicone distribution of dust reflecting light from R Mon to our line of sight.
