Understanding the high redshift sub-mm luminous population and the relation to other galaxy populations Scott Chapman California Institute of Technology A large sample of sub-mm sources with optically faint counterparts have been obtained through a radio pre-selection technique. Through modeling of this population in radio/sub-mm color spaces, and comparison with blank field samples, we have constrained their evolutionary properties. The implications for the general sub-mm source population and the relation of the SCUBA detected Lyman-break galaxies are presented.
