Title: Dynamics of Circumstellar Rings: The Kuiper Belt and Beyond Eugene Chiang Unuversity of California, Berkeley Abstract: Circumstellar disks not only furnish the raw material from which planets form, but also record, via their dynamical structures, the history of events during the era of planet formation. I will review the histories encoded within three examples of circumstellar disks: (1) the Edgeworth-Kuiper belt of planetesimals in our own planetary system, (2) debris disks surrounding main-sequence stars such as Vega, and (3) the warped ring encircling the famously puzzling pre-main-sequence T Tauri star, KH 15D.
