Title: Measuring Interstellar Dust Properties with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Doug Finkbeiner Princeton University Abstract: The Sloan Digital Sky Survey will produce 5-band photometry of >100,000,000 objects over ~7000 square degrees, as well as nearly 1 million spectra. Apart from the obvious cosmological applications of this sample, it provides constraints on the ISM of the Milky Way. I will describe three techniques using stellar photometry, galactic photometry, and spectra, respectively, to measure extinction and the interstellar reddening law. Comparisons to the Schlegel, Finkbeiner, & Davis dust map will be provided.
