Subaru Telescope Project

The Subaru Telescope project is now running on the 8-th year of its
9-years schedule.  The primary mirror has just been installed on the
telescope.  The first-light events are planned in the end of January to
middle of February of 1999, by using several visual and IR instruments.
The test observations with common-use instruments will follow from
summer to winter of next year.  The talk will be extended to the status
of those instruments and perspectives toward the open-use of the Subaru.
