Title: Comet Searching: Thoughts about Changing Times David Levy Arizona Abstract: When I began my visual comet search in 1965, the comet landscape was vastly different from today. Since then it has undergone two revolutions, one to the photographic surveys of the 1980s and 1990s, and now to CCD and automated searching. With the development of the major professional surveys, the golden age of visual comet surveys appears to be over. This presentation will offer an informal summary of the accomplishments of these programs from the personal perspective of someone who has been involved in all three types of searching.
