Tony Readhead CalTech Title: "Recent Observations of the MBR at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory; and the Status of the Cosmic Background Imager under construction at Caltech" Abstract: Observations of the CMBR at the OVRO at 14.5 GHz and 32 GHz have revealed the presence of a previously unsuspected component of galactic foreground emission. The dual frequency measurements are used to subtract off this foreground, and hence an accurate measurement of the intrinsic anisotropy on angular scales 7'-22' is determined. This result, together with previous OVRO observations will be compared with standard models. The Cosmic Background Imager (CBI), now nearing completion at Caltech, is a 13-element 10-channel interferometer, designed for high sensitivity observations of the CMBR. The design, status and capabilities of this instrument will be presented.
