Title: The Cosmic Evolution Survey -- COSMOS Nick Scoville California Institute of Technology, and Institute for Astronomy Abstract: The COSMOS survey is designed to understand the coupled evolution of the universe's large scale structure and the formation of galaxies, dark matter halos, stars, and massive black holes. The survey covers an area of 2 deg with extensive imaging from Hubble, Subaru, Galex, XMM and the VLA and spectroscopy from the VLT and Keck. Results from the first year of the survey will be described.
