LUNCHTIME TALKS ON NEW LARGE TELESCOPE PROPOSALS UNDER DEVELOPMENT AT THE IFA Wednesday, 1st November (TODAY) 12.30-1.30 pm in the IfA Auditorium In anticipation of Dave Jewitt's Friday Colloquium on the Decadal Review, in which he will discuss the recommendation for a new large survey telescope, three of our colleagues will present short, 10 min overviews of their proposals for such telescopes. A substantial fraction of time will be available for discussion. This is also intended to stimulate further discussion at the Faculty Retreat later this month. Nick Kaiser will present the "KLT" small telescope array concept. Alan Tokunaga will present the "New Planetary Telescope" concept to replace the IRTF. Jeff Kuhn will present the "High Dynamic Range Telescope" concept to replace the CFHT.
