Astronomy 110: Survey of astronomy

This is the basic introductory course to astronomical science for nonscience students. The course examines the development of astronomy as a modern science. It provides a broad survey of astronomical topics including the solar system, the Sun and stars, our Milky Way galaxy, other galaxies, and introductory cosmology. It is taught by a variety of astronomers based at the Institute for Astronomy.

At least five sections of ASTR 110 are usually offered each semester
