Hale-Bopp is STILL BRIGHT! Although it is now fainter than last month, it is still very easilly visible in the western sky just after sunset; if you have not seen it yet, hurry! The tail is visible from Honolulu, so it should still be quite spectacular from any darker place.
The following maps have been produced using the excellent xephem program (v.3.0), by E.C.Downey.
The marks indicate the position of Hale-Bopp every day, starting on May 11, 1997. The field of view is about 100 degrees. On this map, North is up and East is left; the actual orientation of the map in your sky depends on your location. The same map is available as a PostScript file
Detailed ephemerides are provided.
