Koa Rice

Koa Rice delves into the nature of the "Kilakila o Mauna a Wakea," or the "Majestic Mauna Kea."  Speaking of the sacredness of Mauna Kea, she describes the ancient sites on the mountain as well as the Hawaiian deities related specifically to this place.  The Hawaiian creation story, the Kumulipo, is explored, along with Hawaiian star names, and the history of King Kalakaua's support for astronomy and technology.
