VIS Tour Request Form
The University of Hawaii (UH) is responsible for managing access on areas including the Visitor Information Station (VIS), summit access road, Maunakea Science Reserve, and the summit region, an area collectively known as the UH managed lands. Entry by groups of over ten persons require an approved Special Request (SR). SRs must be submitted ONE MONTH prior to the intended date of visit. VISITING MAUNAKEA IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE VISITING.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE IF TOUR GOES ABOVE THE ELEVATION OF THE VISITOR INFORMATION STATION – 4-WD REQUIRED IF TOUR GOES ABOVE LEVEL OF VISITOR INFORMATION STATION
Please wash down your vehicle(s), especially mud, before coming up to the VIS/HP area at 9200 feet, to protect the Mountain from invasive species of plants and animals.
