A one-week astronomy program (June 8–14) at the University of Hawai‘i Manoa campus in Honolulu that is designed for incoming grade 9–11 students who would like to work on science research projects and their teachers. Application deadline: March 31.
Investigating Astrobiology Research Topics Through Scientific Inquiry
July 13–18, 2008
This workshop is designed for secondary science teachers. It will emphasize professional development with the use of learning cycles for concept development, lectures and activities led by scientists and state-of-the-art lab tours. Teachers will review and do activities from NSF field-tested curricular materials Voyages Through Time by SETI and others aligned with 2061 Benchmarks. Application deadline: March 28. Waitlist deadline: April 11, 2008.
