TOPS 2000 - Session 24 Description
What are you going to teach next year about astronomy? But, more important than WHAT will you teach is HOW you will teach. In this session, Tim Slater will outline the consensus view of 11 major astronomy topics taught in the US as well as provide an introduction to teaching astronomy using an inquiry-based approach. Such a teaching strategy emphasizes the excitement of scientific investigation and provides multiple levels of complexity for teachers with diverse levels of student experience. Location - HPA New Lecture Hall
