TOPS 2000 - Session 6 Description
If astronomy is more than memorizing star names, constellation locations, and planet distances, how do teachers measure high level conceptual changes in students? This session, run by Tim Slater, will describe strategies that look deeper into student understanding and provide the teacher with detailed information about higher levels of student understanding. Participants will create their own holistic scoring rubrics in order to implement portfolio assessment procedures and performance task assessments as well as explore alternative kinds of paper and pencil tests. Location - Watanabe 112
