|
The Mars Surveyor 2001
program will have 3 goals: (1) to search for past or present
evidence of life, (2) to study weather processes and climate
history, and (3) to understand how the planet evolved and where the resources
for future exploration might lie. The Lander will have a
robotic arm with a scoop to study surface materials, and will
perform soil wet chemistry studies, and do imaging. The mission will
consist of an orbiter, lander and rover.
