SOFIA Education/Public Outreach

SOFIA is the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy. The Astronomical Society of the Pacific and the SETI Institute are developing an educational outreach plan (to be ready 2003) for K-12 educations. They will be given the opportunity to fly aboard SOFIA to see the process of research.

Journalists

Flights aboard the observatory
curriculum materials for the classroom
teacher workshops
