Participants

The 1999 program was a full program which ran from June 13-July 1, 1999. The first 5 days were on the island of Oahu for teachers only, to introduce them to the resources which would be available to them once they started teaching astronomy. The teachers toured many facilities, and were given an introduction to the evaluation and assessment process. On the 6th day, the group flew over to the big island where they were joined by the students. During this part of the workshop, teachers and students engaged in extensive hands-on activities including nightly observing with small telescopes.
