The final exam will take place on
Thursday, Dec 16 from 12 to 2:00 pm in Wat 420. It will be in two
parts.
The first part of the final will consist of a number of
short written answers to questions on topics drawn from the second
half of the course, i.e. the material covered since the midterm. This
part of the exam will comprise 30% of the grade.
The second part of the final (the other 70%) will consist of
a large number (not finalized yet) of multiple choice, T-F and
fill-in-the-blank
questions covering the entire course. These questions will be
designed to test the main points of the material.
The material to be covered on the final includes all class material
up to and including the second- last day of class. This corresponds
to chapters 1 - 11 of the textbook. Chapter 12, "Galaxy Formation",
and the final day's lecture, will not be tested.
Use the class notes as a guide to what will be covered in the
exam.
