AstroDay 2K2, presented by the Hilo Astronomy Club, offers a little of everything for everyone:

  • Personnel and displays from several of Mauna Kea's finest observatories, including Keck, Subaru, Gemini, JCMT, UKIRT, CFHT, CSO, SMA, VLBA, and UH IfA.
  • Speakers sharing the latest astronomical discoveries.
  • Interactive displays and activities.
  • Hawaiian culture exhibits.
  • "Kid's Corner"
  • Evening star party at Hale Pokhu.
  • Plenty of free stuff and over $3000 worth of prizes to be given away all day!

The Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawai'i is proud to be a supporter of AstroDay 2K2, including presentations from IfA members Michael Liu, Andrew Pickles, Peter Capak, Paul Coleman, and Klaus Hodapp. We hope to see you all there!
