Astronomy 110 Laboratory:
Binocular Loan Agreement

Fall 2003 Astronomy 110L Tues. 7:00 - 10:00 pm

IMPORTANT: Binoculars can only be loaned to students who are officially enrolled in ASTR110L. There can be no exceptions. If you are not officially enrolled, please see the instructor to discuss your participation in this class.

Please read this policy carefully before signing, and sign only if the terms are acceptable. You are not required to accept these terms in order to participate in this class, but you must accept them if you wish to borrow binoculars from the ASTR110L equipment pool.

I acknowledge receipt of one pair of Orion 10×50 binoculars in good condition. These binoculars are for use with the Astronomy 110 Laboratory, and I will return them in good condition at the end of the semester. In addition,

  1. I will use these binoculars responsibly at all times,

  2. I will never use them to look at the Sun,

  3. I will keep them in good condition by replacing the lens and eyepiece caps and storing them in their case when they are not in use, and

  4. I agree to replace them should they be lost or damaged.

I understand that my final grade may be withheld unless these binoculars are returned, and that anyone who recklessly or deliberately damages equipment will fail ASTR110L.
