Astronomy 110 Laboratory:
Binocular Loan Agreement

Spring 2003 Astronomy 110L Tues. 7:00 - 10:00 pm

IMPORTANT: Binoculars can only be loaned to students who are officially enrolled for a grade in ASTR110L. There can be no exceptions. If you are not officially enrolled, please see me to discuss your participation in this class.

Please read this policy carefully before signing, and sign only if the terms are acceptable. You are not required to accept these terms in order to participate in this class, but you must accept them if you wish to borrow binoculars from the ASTR110L equipment pool.

I acknowledge receipt of one pair of Orion 10×50 binoculars in good condition. These are for use in connection with the Astronomy 110 Laboratory, and I will return them in good condition at the end of the semester; my final grade will not be submitted until they are returned. In addition, I will

  1. use them responsibly at all times,

  2. never use them to look at the Sun,

  3. keep them in good condition by replacing the lens and eyepiece caps and storing the binoculars in their case when they are not in use, and

  4. agree to replace them should they be lost or damaged.

I understand that reckless or deliberate damage of laboratory equipment constitutes grounds for failing ASTR110L.
