Eclipse Photos

Having photographed parts of three lunar eclipses and a solar eclipse, I thought it would be nice to put the photos on one page. Click pictures below for higher resolution.

Feb 20, 2008 - Hilo, Hawaii

I only had 16 minutes from when the moon began emerging from the horizon clouds until it went behind the overhead clouds.

Mar 3, 2007 - Dundee, Scotland

I was near Mills Observatory for what the BBC said would be one of the best lunar eclipses in decades. And the sky was pretty clear!

Oct 27, 2004 - Mauna Kea Summit, Hawaii

It was a cloudy day; I hiked to the true summit and couldn't see anything else for a bit. As the clouds cleared, I got a few photos, then got another one after dark.

Oct 13, 2004 - Mauna Kea Summit, Hawaii

David Levy gave a talk in Hilo the evening before. We took him to the summit to see a partial solar eclipse into sunset. Steve O'Meara lent me piece of mylar to shoot through.
