SPECTROSCOPIC VS SED REDSHIFTS
Redshifts estimated from template fits to the nir and optical
data of the H+K table are compared with the spectrosopic redshifts of the H+K table
(Left panel). Also shown (right panel) is the same comparison
for the SED redshifts estimated by the SUNY group (Lanzetta et
al 1996 Nature (in press)) from fits to the 4 HDF colors only.
The SUNY color estimated redshifts place many low redshift galaxies and stars at
high redshift but the 6 color redshift estimates appear to be robust
for the galaxies with measured redshifts.
