Astronomy Interests & Research

My research generally involves the study of so-called "transition" objects in our solar system, i.e. asteroids that might be comets or comets that look like asteroids or anything else in between.

Research interests:

  • Main-belt comets (like 133P/Elst-Pizarro)
  • The nature and consequences of collisions in the main belt,
         particularly involving asteroid families
  • Astrobiological implications of asteroidal ice
  • Asteroidal meteor stream parent objects
  • Asteroid-like (inactive) objects on comet-like orbits
  • Comet-like (active) objects on asteroid-like orbits

    Other items:

  • My publications and CV
  • My asteroid
  • Useful links
