Mission Timeline
IRTF Mission Support
- Requirement of rapid observation of newly discovered NEOs to characterize
their size, albedo and minearology. Not only are these objects potential
hazards, but they are also potential resources for Earth.
- Immediate followup - 1-5 micron spectra for surface compositon
- Size, albedo, thermal inertia within 0.25 AU
