  • The Regular and Student registration fees cover the cost of attending the meeting, a continental breakfast each morning (8/2-6/99), daily buffet lunches, the opening reception and the proceedings.

  • Special guest or accompanying person registration allows the guest to participate at the opening reception and to enjoy the continental breakfasts and coffee breaks. Lunches are not included, nor are copies of the Proceedings.

  • The Press are not being charged a fee for attending the meeting, however because there are substantial costs associated with the food, fees for the Press cover food expenses only (opening reception, coffee breaks, continental breakfasts). Lunches are not included in this price.

    Please note that badges must be worn at all times for admittance to functions. Guests need not be registered to purchase a banquet ticket for the luau (which will be held Thursday 8/5/99).

    The Conference hotel rates will be honored between July 28, 1999 - August 10, 1999. These are only guaranteed through June 30, 1999. After that date rooms will be available at this rate only on a space-available basis. The normal rack rates will apply outside of these dates. Rack rates range between $325 - $495 per night for rooms, and $925-$6,000 for suites. All rates are subject to a 11.416% state excise and accommodation tax. The rates are per night, based on single / double occupancy. A one time charge for a rollaway is $45 + tax. Children under 17 years sharing parents' room and using existing bedding may stay free of charge. Maximum occupancy is 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

    Reservations at the hotel may be made directly by calling (800) 882-6060, and identifying yourself as being with the "Bioastronomy Meeting". Specify the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. You can also print out a reservation form and fill it out to fax to the hotel at (808) 880-3112. Hotel reservations are the responsibility of the individual participants, and not the LOC.
