This is what happens when you are "crazy" enough to accept an invitation to a party on a friday night at your car dealer's ...... you just might find yourself really learning how to drive a Land Rover. After "ground school" where we learned proper techniques for balancing the car on logs (very useful in the wilderness), navigating muddy obstacle courses, and car barrel racing, we got our real test off road. Many would not have gone, had they known.......
Black Bear pass in southern Colorado, near Telluride.
Scenery from Black Bear pass.
The road begins to get "fun".
Yes, the road is just about as wide as the car, and yes it was steep, and yes, that is a 3000 foot cliff on the left .... it was exhilarating!
