Focusing The Guider

When you have found a guide star and have successfully focused the telescope, you will want to focus the guider. There is a ``Guider Focus'' box within the COSMIC instrument window. The ``+'' (left mouse) and ``-'' (right mouse) buttons are used within this window to change the focus of the star on the TV screen on the guider rack. As the focus is changed, the star will move vertically on this screen; in this way one person can adjust the focus as the other person identifies the physical position on the screen at which the guider passed through the best focus.
