Choosing the Appropriate Directory

The day crew will setup the instrument into its normal configuration, and do simple tests to insure that the setup is complete. The day crew will usually leave the camera window open on the screen, saving the images into the directory ``/export/home/cosmic''. This hard disk has only a small amount of space available, so it is usually necessary to quit the current COSMIC window (click the right mouse on the top bar of the camera window, and choose the option ``Quit''), move to an appropriate directory within a CMDTOOL or XTERM window (type ``cd /export/data/cosmic'', followed by a carriage return), and then reopen the COSMIC instrument window (type ``cosmic'', followed by a carriage return). The COSMIC window should reappear on the screen.
