The Sun produces a variety of spectacular phenomena – from flares and
coronal mass ejections to the solar wind – that ripple across the solar
system and occasionally impact Earth. In this talk, we’ll explore these
events, why they matter, and what scientists concern themselves with.
Along the way, we’ll separate fact from fiction and show what popular
science (and Hollywood) gets wrong.
